About Atreya
Atreya Manaswi is a Hahn Scholar at Yale University and a researcher, author, and global speaker passionate about medicine, innovation, sustainability, and equitable access to science. He has conducted research in computational neuroscience, genetics, and environmental science at Stanford Medical School, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the University of Florida.
Since age 12, he has led honey bee research with the USDA, culminating in BeetleGuardAI—a solar-powered, 3D-printed IoT trap that uses beer-based bait and machine learning to forecast hive pest outbreaks as a sustainable alternative to toxic pesticides.
As a global health and climate advocate, Atreya has spoken at six UN climate summits, the World Food Forum, and over 25 farming and beekeeping organizations. His peer-reviewed publications and children’s book, The Bee Story, bridge science and storytelling to inspire young climate leaders.
He is also the Founder and CEO of the International Youth STEM Society (IYSS), a nonprofit spanning 25+ countries, 8,000+ followers, and 1,500+ students reached through workshops and open-access STEM curricula.
Atreya has been recognized as a Regeneron Science Talent Search Top 40 Finalist, Diana Award Recipient, RISE Global Winner, 2-time ISEF Grand Award Winner, Gloria Barron Young Hero, T-Mobile Changemaker, and Global BioGENEius Sustainability Winner.
